Hi All
Just a quick note to say the updatable builds (the ‘U’ builds) will be discontinued as from now since they don’t actually update cleanly! It’s forcibly disabled in the update engine code.
I’ll revisit later but its low priority in the larger scheme of things.
I have a question. Ever since I first flashed your builds, I have been wondering a few things: are you a real bat?
Yes, and a Vampire Bat at that!
More like batman, because you’re saving the day
Thanks a lot about the chromium build work!
Hi, Arnold. I installed the special U build, will I get dev server updates after setting it up? What’s the size of dev server OTA updates?
And having trouble with its installation: after giving the install command, it doesn’t start to install, wants password and giving the ‘password’ (without the quotes :P) error message shows. Thanks in Advance! 🙂
You will get updates, even to the U builds, if you have installed them to hard drive. OTA can be over 200Mb..
And also eager to know what’s the difference among Your chromium builds – Google’s chrome – Cloudready OS 🙂
I am testing your chromium builds on my Dell Inspiron 14 (1464) and wanna install. 😀
https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src/+/master/docs/chromium_browser_vs_google_chrome.md
My builds are a good few versions in front of Googles mainstream and Cloudready…
Hi Arnold! just a quick question, i´ve tried every script for x86 and 64 bits and i couldnt get mp4 or mp3 to work, is this possible? is there a workaround? Just yes or no, so i keep trying or i give up…
Thanks in advance
Hi, Arnold.
I have a question.
Because I am not good at English, it may be hard to read my document.
You said the updatable builds will be discontinued.
It was released in the past,
· CHROMIUMOS SPECIAL BUILD – R47-7451
· CHROMIUMOS SPECIAL BUILD – R46-7323
will it apply to?
Or is the update from a Dev Server still possible about these?
If you have installed the ‘U’ builds to hard drive, they will update. Until I have sorted the code however for the U builds to allow them to update on USB, it wont work.
Hi, Arnold.
Please tell me about update.
I downloaded “Cx86OS_R47-7451.0-Special.7z” and “Cx86OS_R47-7451.0.U-Special.7z”.
I set up these two in USB memory and executed “sudo stateful_update” command.
Then I was displayed as follows.
——————————————————————————–
chronos@localhost / $ sudo stateful_update

and “About Chromium OS” will be displayed as follows.
——————————————————————————–
Version 47.0.2507.0
Platform 7451.0.2015_09_13_1735 (Developer Build – tonyd) developer-build x86-at
Update day Friday, December 25, 2015
——————————————————————————–
I show December 25 on an update day.
However, there is no change on a version and the platform.
Would this update really succeed?
Not only “U-Special” but also “Special” is displayed in the same way.
Though I do not install it in a hard disk.
Or, what’s not been able to run both updates?
Hi
Yes you can try multiple updates from the server and if the version hasnt changed it will still download the version to your machine for the stateful update.
Hi, Arnold.
I write it from Japan.
I found malfunction of the Japanese input.
The applicable build is three of the next.
・Camd64OS_R46-7323.0-Special.7z
・Camd64OS_R47-7451.0-Special.7z
・Camd64OS_R48-7549.0-Special.7z
I choose “Japanese” for a language.
I choose input method “Japanese keyboard”.
I should be able to change English and the Japanese input with [Ctrl]+[Space] key if usual.
However, all key input is not possible after the Japanese input changed it.
“daily” and “weekly” do not produce the problem.
Japanese is available for input.
However, only “special” causes a problem.
“Cx86OS…” was a similar result, too.
I’m pretty new to this, but I’m attempting to get Chromium 50.0.2637.0 running on Panasonic CF-30. I had them run perfectly off the USB, but when I installed to the HDD it runs slow and I have a great deal of trouble with connecting to wireless networks. Is there a driver that could be on the USB but didn’t install that I need or am I trying to use the wrong build on this machine?
